All of us here at the Truth Spot are very pleased at the direction that Chief Tim White is taking at the Mehlville FPD. We are told that White is meeting with very employee and allowing them to put forward their ideas on how to improve the District.
One employee told us that he took in a list of things that were of concern to him and personally discussed them with Chief White. White told this firefighter that these were all good ideas and assured him they would be seriously studied and considered. We have heard through the grapevine that 90% of MFPD personnel are ready to bury the past and move forward to create the premier fire district Tim White envisions.
The South County Truth Spot has always believed that the MFPD has an excellent group of professional firefighters and paramedics to serve the public. What was lacking was a clear vision of the future. Tim White's goal is to empower and motivate these talented and compassionate people into a cohesive unit that operates with high morale and dedication.
We here at the Truth Spot are encouraged that the employees are just as burned-out on the unnecessary hostilities of the past as the MFPD Board of Directors. The positive contributions that are now being made by district employes are a breath of fresh air to South Countians who desire peace and harmony in their fire district.
We encourage all parties to continue this important dialogue, forget about the past and move into a fulfilling future for all members of the MFPD.
