Local 1889's Attorney Tries to Explain...

There was a hilarious segment on KMOX AM 1120 with Mark Reardon yesterday featuring Mehlville FPD Local 1889's high-priced attorney and Democratic activist, Rick Barry and MFPD BOD Chairman, Aaron Hilmer. Click HERE to listen.

Rick Barry was surprisingly inept in explaining WHY terminated MFPD firefighter Keith Floyd's silly attempt to demonize BOD member Bonnie Stegman as a harasser backfired.

As unbelievable as it sounds, Barry claims that someone mysteriously pulled up in Floyd's driveway, clandestinely accessed his wife's computer via Wi-Fi and then sent a spooky message to MFPD employees' cell phones. These "threatening calls" caused "psychological damage" to such an extent that district employees Patty Machino, Michael Gaterman, Richard Link, Kelly Kirkpatrick, Robert Mennemeyer, Heather Wehrman and Martin Wehrman all filed police reports with St. Louis County Police. (TruthDetector: We are told that the district does NOT have access to employee cell phone numbers, but the union maintains a "buzz book" shared among members that lists cell phones)

All of these employees stated that they received "threatening phone calls" from Mehlville FPD HQ on or around 10/21/08. Some of these employees stated that "they could not do their jobs because they were so terrified" concerning these phone calls mentioning Bonnie Stegman. Also some claimed that these calls "terrorized their children".

However, when St. Louis County Police completed their investigation in late summer, the police probe traced these calls to the Internet account of MFPD firefighter Keith Floyd's wife. Mr. Floyd was then interviewed by police and Chief Tim White. Floyd's story was that "he didn't do it, and he did not know who did". It seems odd to us that as soon as the seven employees who filed police reports describing the all-consuming terror that these phone calls caused them and their loved ones, were suddenly relieved of all their fear when they discovered that a fellow Local 1889 member had committed the violation.

What is even MORE AMAZING, is that now we are told that Mr. Floyd and his gold-plated attorney (who will be paid by the same union members who were "terrorized") intends to sue the MFPD for "wrongful termination". As Aaron Hilmer said yesterday on KMOX of the seventh lawsuit to be filed against the Board by Local 1889 since 2005: "Get in line".

We hope that Mr. Floyd files his lawsuit so that the people in the Mehlville FPD will gain an insight into the expensive shenanigans conducted by the malcontents of Local 1889 who are doing all that they can to destroy the district.

The South County Truth Spot predicts that Mr. Floyd's case will end in defeat for him. Missouri is an "at will" state and the Board of Directors had every right to terminate an employee who caused such havoc among his peers. No harassment should ever be tolerated in the workplace - period.
